First topic for discussion: whoring yourself

Spacegravy and j000hnyd, both live MTT rookies, who just got absolutely pwnd in their first live MTT are now advertising that they are selling pieces of themselves at WSOP is just laughable. These guys know they won't win anything, but desperate to play these events, simply want to limit their downside. They made all the rookie MTT mistakes of waiting for hands, folding to re-raises, etc. And finally they got into spots for all their chips where they were absolutely dominated. I say again...this is pure desperation and the blogs have a whiff of begging. If they were confident of making big scores they would never do this. Anyone who thinks they're onto a huge profit by backing these idiots is beyond dreaming. You'll notice that Spacegravy would never offer himself this way playing SNGs.

Second topic: playing poker games other than NL hold'em

thenoodlemen etc pretend to be "all rounders" by posting lucky hands on PLO and stud. Don't be fooled, these people have little or no understanding of the theory behind these games, they are just too advanced for them. Look at how thenoodleman plays rolled kings...call call call. Not even a raise on the end! And the fisrt hand, where he had to catch card after miracle card! I guarantee all are big losers in these games, no matter how 2 hands turn out.

Third topic: what to do with my life?

Hardly a blog entry that shows poker is for them. Fieryjustice has had a crazy year, granted. But that was all down to luck after misplaying hand after hand (as we all saw and well documented here). And he's stressed over a $120k mortgage?!?!?!? Why not pay that sucker off and have no debt? It's just stupid.

This is one of the more standard situations for anyone who has any clue about SNGs. All things being equal, I can't get my chips in quick enough here. Now, what's missing is the read on the BB. Tight, aggressive, spite caller? I guess thenoodleman doesn't think that's important, and that's one reason why he's no good. What you think the BB will do is key in this situation. A7 is not a significant favorite over any hand (lower aces will usually split), so if I think an opponent's calling range is wide, I'd wait for a better spot.

Well, as predicted, these live MTT fish got crucified.

Spacegravy blamed it on bad cards for SIX HOURS and how bad people play, whilst himself re-raising with AJ all-in vs QQ. Not sure why QQ isn't in the opponent's range...expect more blow-ups at the WSOP...the kiddy game is down the road. Bit different playing live, eh?

Sounds like j000hnyd made an essay out of how bad people are and how he should have dominated if only he had good cards. Thankfully he sucks at using simple software (even thenoodleman can save blog entries successfully) and we are spared that diatribe. What's with the Q5 push? Must have been steaming from being outplayed by the live pros all day.

You can tell right off the bat that Bones is definitely NOT having a good time at the "mansion". Just in those few weeks he knows it's very -EV for his poker "career". You would have thought he'd be playing as many WSOP events as possible! Maybe he's realised he's a life nit and can't beat the game? Maybe he's caught an STD from one of the hookers he pays for regularly, as he can't get a women any other way, and wants to do more important things with his time than lose at poker? Who knows. Bones is not his jovial usual self.

Only donkey Little can say 66 v 88 all in preflop is "standard" for 17BB. Pretty awful if you ask me. He either called a re-raise push or re-raised pushed himself with 66, neither of which is a good play. He "stole a lot from the blinds" and then was called, crushed, by AQ v A3. Like the old saying goes, the all in move works every time but once. I guess no one told our favorite donkey, because that seems to be his only move. Probably due to the fact he has no flop skills, which was amazingly obvious on all the TV shows he's been on.

Can someone explain to me why every post these days has to be a carefully selected graph showing, over a carefully selected time period, how "well" they are doing? Surely people don't want to read this crap? No one cares. These "Icons" (and thenoodleman in particular) seem very self-conscious that they are perceived as not good players (probably from reading this blog), and are a mission to try and "disprove" this.

It's not working.

A little tip for thenoodleman and co. Before all your readers die of boredom, stop the 1-dimensional posts about your upswings (at least, unless you also post the downswings). Talk about hands, situations, vendettas - that's the fun stuff. I feel a little embarrassed having to point this out, it's pretty obvious.

Here's some more help for noodleman (I'm feeling in a giving mood today).

Why??????? Make such a dufus blog entry???? OK, you've got variance on your side obviously for FIFTEEN GAMES. Dude, 15 games! Someone should tell you that's not a large sample size...in fact I just did. This is an unsubtly disguised brag post...but it's after FIFTEEN GAMES.

You can bet this is what happened. Noodleman plays a couple of sets, manages a large number of 2 and 3 outers all in preflop, and after only 20 games wants to jack off to his "dominating" profit graph. He's never been able to post one of these before because he's a breakeven player at best, so it's understanding he wants to try and join spacegravy with the large upswing graphs - after all, he taught him how to put it on the blog.

The difference is spacegravy has an average stake more than 3x thenoodleman's ($33s - what a joke). Secondly he shows the results after thousands of games, not 20. 20!!!! Still can't get over that. Well thenoodleman wants to enjoy life while variance is on his side, can't blame him really. He's unlikely to show his wonderful graph after a few hundred games, so here's my prediction after variance has had a chance to even itself out.

After lucksacking his way to a 7-1 chip lead (raising 8-4 are you kidding me?) this donkey somehow manages to lose. The guy has just once move - all in. The 44 hand was just ridiculous, not to mention the 10-7 at the end. The blinds weren't even that big! He is obviously outclassed in this field - that was painfully obvious. The commentators ragging on his play says it all really (if you don't want to take my word for how bad he is).

The look on donkeys face at the end was just beautiful, the baby was about to cry (probably did....wahhhh big bully Ferguson beat me up, mommy). He finished his classless display by refusing an interview afterwards.

I have to paste his email response to FullTilt here again because it's just ridiculous:

He sounds like one of those tough guy online poker players who talks big but is sufficiently annonymous and far away to know they are safe. Who the hell does he think he is? If I was on the FullTilt team and reading this, I'd just be laughing at this loser. I mean - get a life, seriously. There are some people out there dealing with cyclones and earthquakes, and this is the shit that gets thenoodleman upset?

Hilarious the way he tries to get more influence by saying "have trusted you with thousands of dollars of my money". Wrong. The actual big game players, and people who can use their influence, deal in MILLIONS of dollars, you friggin moron. Large sums of money indeed, you are so small time it's funny. Maybe you should have told them you're an "SNG Icon" - that might have worked (not).

Then he tries a different tact by throwing out his undeniable expert insite in the current poker climate, which is the obvious reason why his check is delayed. Wrong. Checks are delayed ALL THE TIME because the support team on any poker site is only one step down the evolutionary chain from a monkey. It's a shame that thenoodleman hasn't cashed out enough to realise this - in fact, I wouldn't be surprised if this was his first ever cashout. Must be his birthday or something and he needs to buy himself a card.

"If you have been deceitful with me on this issue, now is the time to come clean." - Oooooooooo....scary. I can imagine more giggles in the FullTilt email room. Like they care what you think. So they ignore his threats and reply with the standard cursory email that basically says "fuck off and die" - which I think is appropriate.

So Inspector Noodleman does his forensic analysis of the envelope used to post his check and realised he has been lied to. And the consequencies after all his trash talking and threats?

Wickss is claiming he has thought up all the new software enhancements on PokerStars? LOL. Who does this hick think he is. His "new ideas" were probably thought up months before his sorry ass came to the conclusion.

First I thought he was joking, but soon realised this dude is serious. It's not like there's hundreds of thousands of people playing on this site everyday thinking up and emailing improvement ideas all the time...oh wait.

It does warm my heart to see that Wickss has won his largest EVER cash at PokerStars. Pity it was a $300 sweetener for being a good "customer" rather than a poker game. Obviously PokerStars wants to keep its high volume losing players interested.

Since the douchebag "Icons" refuse to blog anything, I thought I'd post some thoughts on the most overrated player of all time: Jonathan Little.

Look at this guy, he made a LITTLE money during the supersoft era of SNGs (03-05). Basically anyone who had an average knowledge of poker made money here. People would be absolute retards by check calling all ins with AJ for like 20BB. So Jon tries to translate his averageness to the WPT. On his 1st attempt he final tabled (got absolutely crushed and got 6th). He used the money to keep playing WPT events and on like his 4th attempt he final tabled again after going on the luckiest streak of all time (he was down to 6BB at one point and contemplated giving up: http://www.sngicons.com/geeklog/blogs//article.php?story=20070519214342491). The number of 2 and 3 outers all in preflop was just ridiculous (trust me I was there).

So after being given luck gifts from the Gods, winning the Mirage WPT for ~$1M, and a few months later being given such a sweet deal with FullTilt whereby he was paid $30 per hour AND 100% rakeback, what does he do?

He throws it all away.

It all went down at the NBC heads up event. For months there were rumors that Jon had other people playing under his account. He denied it publicly on 2+2:

The hate from the poker community is obvious. This just proved the morals of this guy. Not only does he screw his employer who gave him such a ridiculously good deal, he lies about it! Most intelligent people, if they are going to go down this unethical route, will lay low for a while and let the rumors pass. But not "smart" Jon - he actually has people INCREASE his volume AND play while he is being televised at the NBC heads up show!!!! This is about as dumb as you can get. The guy threw away at least a million dollars guaranteed per year from FTP by simply being greedy.

He has zero personality and negative TV presence - a must in modern day successful poker players (at least the ones who want to benefit from sponsorship). The guy is so boring to watch I find myself wanting to pull my teeth out just for some kind of entertainment.

If you watch the NBC heads up tourney, the people Jon plays clearly have zero respect for him. The normally jovial Gabe Kaplan and verbal Greg Raymer say NOTHING. They want to beat this moron. Just watch the games, especially Raymer, the hate is obvious. NBC gave him the absolute minimum TV time possible because he is so painfully boring to watch. So Chris Ferguson, a FTP pro who at this time knows very well Jon has been taking advantage of his status at FullTilt and likely jepardising his own status, beats his ass after getting his chips in good every time, prompting this utterly unforgivable post from a guy who got outplayed and knows it:

The guy makes like $1.20/hr and thinks hes baller. Thats why people hate on him. He could go flip burgers at Mcdonalds for 6 times what he makes. Seems like Little Jon is getting a bit steamed up about my blog. He doesn't name me directly but he's obviously talking about my article ripping his final table play to shreds. Must have hit a nerve. That usually happens when the truth has been told.

So his gold digging girlfriend wanted a PS3, and disguised that fact by convincing Jon to take a week off from poker. The kid really doesn't realise he's being played. Donate all your money to charity (which is basically what he's been unintentionally been doing to the poker community in the last few months) and see if she is so "wonderful" then!

And he has the gaul to shout out to his "supporters"! Which basically consist of his family and people who benefit financially off him, therefore his supporters group is dwindling daily.

The WSOP. Now, as everyone knows, you can talk a good game, you can play a good game, but unless you've made an impact at the WSOP...you're basically nothing in the poker world (unless your name is Gus Hansen).

All the "Icons" combined have a total of ZERO bracelets. Hmmm...(lol). Which means none of them are taken seriously in the poker world. The chances of any of the "Icons" winning a bracelet this year? Virtually zero...and I will dedicate an entire post to an apology if I'm wrong (I am +++++EV on this one).

I guess Spacegravy got too "balla" for the "Icons" as he wants to move to Richmond, VA. That is balla country, dude. Happening place. I think the average BMI of women in Richmond is 40, not that Space "all I do is play by (with) myself on the computer" Gravy cares about such things. If he needs to get laid he'll give himself the old five-knuckle-shuffle. Or if variance has been reaaaally nice to him, he'll give it the old five-knuckle-shuffle, create a brag graph and then head off to the nearest whorehouse.

Oh yes, the infamous Spacegravy videos. They are becoming a myth just like the Loch Ness Monster or Bigfoot...there are rumors that they exist, but no actual evidence.
