The Official "Joe got 14th in the HORSE event" thread

An awful hand to lose on (BigJoke seems to love pairs of sixes for some reason). Here's another misplayed hand:

Joseph Michael Bricks Up Razz: Joseph "bigjoe2003" Michael just lost about half of his stack to Barry Greenstein on a razz hand where Greenstein made a 7-6-4-3-A low and Michael bricked up, ultimately making three tens. He's down to 200,000 while Greenstein has rebounded to 1,020,000.

Simply horrendous. Most people reading this will not realise how bad a spot this was, especially for half your chips!

Watch this video and you'll realise that BigJoke plays the tough guy only online (look at that hat!). http://www.pokerstars.tv/pokerstars/channels/11778/movies/3045.html

"The money doesn't mean that much to me" - in other words, he had to rely on other people to buy him in and he wouldn't benefit financially. Which is funny because he turned into a little girl around bubble time. He admits he got lucky to get to be one of the chip leaders (for a short time).

All in all, like Jonathan Little, he sucks as an interviewee. Also like Little (when Jonny lost to Chris Ferguson in the NBC Heads Up), he shows absolutely no class whatsoever.

"Where is someone so I can get my money and get the fuck out of here," Michael said as he got up and left the table."

It's no wonder he grew up in a trailer park (that's true by the way).

bigjoe2003: 4th in chips going into Day 3

http://www.sngicons.com/geeklog/blogs//article.php?story=20080627044948189

Typical "Icons" analysis. Also read thenoodleman's latest moronic blog entry here: http://www.sngicons.com/geeklog/blogs//article.php?story=20080627004152739

They go into great depth about their bad beat hands, but gloss over entirely how they GOT their chips (especially bigjoe). BAD BEAT BAD BEAT BAD BEAT THESE GUYS ARE HORRIBLE...mumble got chips somehow mumble 4th now mumble. I heard on the grapevine that Joe's been getting RIDICULOUSLY lucky in this tourney and most of the pros who have played with him do not rate his game AT ALL.

But anyway, I wish him good luck. We'll never hear the end of it if he final tables or wins, but it would be a great achievement. It would be funny to see his gay-ness on TV, much like the supernova event where he came across like a scared little child. For all his bluster and threats etc online, in real life he's a pussy. I bet he wishes he backed himself more rather than selling 90% of himself.

FieryJustice: more coinflippamemnts

http://www.sngicons.com/geeklog/blogs//article.php?story=20080619182735470

1. Jonathan Little thinks he is the best player in the world and deserves to win every tournament he enters.

2. Jonathan Little just realises poker involves an element of luck and winning coinflips is a requirement to getting deep into a tournament.

3. Jonathan Little thinks he is a very unlucky poker player.

Seeing as he is too gay to allow comments on his blog, please feel free to absolutely trash the moron here.

#1 Stalker: WSOP Week 2 update

Bracelets: 0
Final Tables: 1 (Razz - lol)
Cashes: 4

Just a quick update as I am currently on a break. Well, finally, after entering at least 50 events between them, the "Icons" finally cashed in an event. z32fanatic cashed in the $1500 shootout. You would have thought, having a structure so similar to STTs, the so-called "Icons" would crush this event. Put just 1 cash down as a huuuge loss for them (at least in their minds). Spacegravy and McShove (lol) are still in the $1500 NLHE event, so no doubt they'll be out soon when they're caught pushing 72 for the 5th time and getting "horribly" called by QJ.

Bigjoe has final-tabled the Razz event, which really shows that anyone with a good run of cards can do well. He admits he has no clue on the strategy of Razz and must have just been hit in the face with the deck. If his luck does carry through to a bracelet (it's possible), then Razz is really only considered a Mickey Mouse event where only a few people in the world actually know how to play it at a high level, and certainly none of the "Icons".

FieryJustice: good luck

http://www.sngicons.com/geeklog/blogs//article.php?story=20080613151518342

Cry baby Jonny's at it again. He can't handle too much truth being thrown at him so he's stopped all commenting on his blog (again). He's still convinced that he's the most amazing player who ever lived and that everyone in the world wants to be him. That planet he's living on must be nice. Not sure why he gets so upset and tilted from what people say about him...a sign of immaturity and insecurity I guess.

Anyway, as you all know, the "Icon's" read my blog religiously, so feel free to "spam" this as much as you like with more truth about our favorite cry baby donkey.

PS. a big LOL at you writing a book...you can barely write a coherent and interesting blog entry!

McShove + FuggFrist: Update! + Long time no blog

http://www.sngicons.com/geeklog/blogs//article.php?story=20080609210030808

Well, the two worst bloggers of the site have decided to chirp in after a long hiatus. And they both refer specifically to my blog (sucks to be the guy who thought these people never read what I write!).

McShoves first blog entry in 8 months was not a memorable one. This guy only ever writes something if we wins at poker, so that's a REAL long dry spell. I think the only reason he did decide to finally speak up is to ensure I include him in my WSOP updates...pity he has yet to win anything yet. Fear not, I have noted your 0/3 record in live tournaments (0 live MTTs cashes - LOL). This guy sucks and he knows it.

Well this loser hasn't posted for 6 months, and with good reason. Reading about his life I kinda pity him. The most notable thing he can say is he adopted a cat. In fact, he hasn't even entered the WSOP ME yet and is STILL trying to qualify! He must have been in a relavites will because that's the only way I can see that he still has a bankroll to play poker. That or he won his local hick lottery, which is about the same amount of luck he needs to win a poker tournament. Props for seeing the humor in this site, but don't worry, I'll be "doing my thing" for a long time to come yet. I even have my own groupies!

bigjoe2003: Busted in 1500 Shootout

http://www.sngicons.com/geeklog/blogs//article.php?story=20080610013625432

Well, I couldn't let this one pass without comment. Just too juicy an opportunity to tear a new one for the "Icon's" most overrated player.
How he can lose his entire stack with just a bare 6 (and 7 kicker to boot!) on the turn is just amazing. Is someone like The Grinder supposed to just give his blinds away. Should he just let you raise him with 7-high and fold like a little girl? That's not how you win tournaments, and Mizrachi has won his fair share of big tournies.

So set the scene, The Grinder rolls over two pair having outplayed our "champ". Never was this "Icon's" icon (upper left) so close to real life. STEEEEEEEEEEEEEAMING!!! "How dare you call me with that! It's not allowed! You're only supposed to call with the top 10% of hands so I know what you have! It's not fair! Can we replay the hand, dealer, because I'm sure it's against the rules to call my small raise out of the small blind with a bad hand!"

This is a pefect hand to show the difference between tough live pros and the so-called online geniuses. It's all about flops baby. Bigjoe and the rest are only comfortable playing a 2-card game, and they'll give you 47563485683 mathematical reasons why they never make a preflop mistake. This is called "basic hold'em", and is useful in the latter parts of SNGs. Now, early in a big live MTT, shock-horror, you are forced to PLAY FLOPS. This requires a whole new level of skill which the "Icons" just don't have. You can see time and again, post-flop they continuously get outplayed and get their chips in bad. That has been well documented. This is the reason someone like The Grinder will call with a wide range of hands, because he's pretty confident he can outplay his opponent (in this case bigjoe2003) after the flop. It's knowing your man (or fish). No one is denying he got pretty fortunate hitting the flop that hard, but if he didn't he would have come out betting and bigjoe would have had to fold. So either way he wins. As it turns out he has two pair, can read his opponent as wanting to get his chips in, and obliges by pushing. Bigjoe had committed 30% of his stack on the turn, and I really see no reason why he has to call off the other 70%, especially as the blinds were low. It's a tilting, frustrated, fishy call that Joe would rip someone else to shreds if they made it.

Some really good comments on this one:

lol, you think you are the best player in the world. the grinder is backed? you are an idiot, he makes 10x what you do. and you are the idiot getting it in way behind

Authored by: Anonymous on Tuesday, June 10 2008 @ 07:39 AM MDT
Why don't you get over yourself, and realize where you are in the poker world, cause your not where you think you are.

Authored by: Anonymous on Tuesday, June 10 2008 @ 08:58 AM MDT
Sounds like you played the hand a million times worse than he did- and I have to agree, you're nowhere near who you think you are

Authored by: Anonymous on Tuesday, June 10 2008 @ 08:59 AM MDT
lol wp @ snapping off there with 67

Authored by: Anonymous on Tuesday, June 10 2008 @ 01:27 PM MDT
lol. joe you have serious issues. its hilarious how nothing is ever your fault. If he had the 67 and you had the J2 you would be laughing at how huge a donkey he was to call the reshove ahah.

Authored by: Anonymous on Tuesday, June 10 2008 @ 03:31 PM MDT
His preflop play was only outdone by your horrible post flop play.

Authored by: Anonymous on Tuesday, June 10 2008 @ 03:53 PM MDT
My questions is after you bet the $525 and were check raised allin why didn't you fold? You still had enough chips and its obvious there your gonna get it in really really bad?

Authored by: Anonymous on Tuesday, June 10 2008 @ 06:27 PM MDT
I totally agree. I think that was worst play of all!

I hope you're embarrased after re reading this blog entry. lol

#1 Stalker: WSOP Week 1 update

Bracelets: 0
Final Tables: 0
Cashes: 0

Spacegravy. You will notice there will be a continued theme to the "Icon's" WSOP updates. That is, everyone else who plays any event is a really bad poker player, and they of course do nothing wrong and can justify their mistakes. So Spacegravy tries a squeeze play with jack high against a "guy who has been raising 60% (exaggeration??) of hands so cannot possibly have a calling hand." Oops. Somewhere out there a guy has a blog where he saw some dufus re-raise all in with jack high, and how terrible people play... Onto the shootout tourney. Obviously no one who plays this event has ever played an SNG...like EVER! LOL. The "most +EV investment of my life"? I thought that was the $100 bet you had with thenoodleman over who had the highest IQ. Anyway, in the shootout Spacegravy learns that playing live you need a whole new set of cahoonas to playing online, where it's all too easy to slide that little bar all the way up and hit RAISE. Sounds like the guy was playing tight, waiting for cards, which is certainly not the optimal way to play this event. You need to have the guts to actually READ YOUR OPPONENT (online players are renound for being really bad at this). So in the end, this self-proclaimed "best SNG player in the world" was asking advice from the rest of the table. Sad.

z32fanatic. Blah blah...table was soft...so many bad players...didn't cash....blahhh...fish galore... No hand reviews here, which suggests he played awful and got outplayed. Someone commented that he shoved Q9 and got caught and that's how he busted, although I cannot confirm that (sounds like something this donkey would do). At least z32fanatic has some idea that he is -EV playing live, as he is the only "Icon" to state he will still play online during the WSOP. The others simply cannot admit that.

Bigjoe. Well I guess bigjoe should be proud of himself. He is the only "Icon" not to bust out all his events on the first day. He actually made Day 2...twice!!!! I'm really not sure why he played the 10k mixed event, as he admits himself "you have to just be a sick all around poker player to win", which does kinda rule him out of contention.

FieryJustice. What a surprise, little man is crying about bad beats, like that wasn't exactly how he won his bankroll. He should be the last person in the world to moan about his luck, and he now gets called out on it in the comments section every time.

Authored by: Anonymous on Thursday, June 05 2008 @ 11:59 PM MDT
why am i not suprised to see more bad beats stories from fiery "bad beat book" justice...keep in mind you ran like God live in 07.....your last 234324324 blog entries have been bad beat stories

Authored by: Anonymous on Saturday, June 07 2008 @ 02:11 AM MDT
what planet you on?

Just by reading his replies, where apparently everyone in the world envies him, you can tell this guy is losing the plot. He is obviously not cut out for poker if comments on his blog make him go on super-tilt. Would people like to have the lottery money he lucked in to? Absolutely. Would they want to be Jonathan Little the person. LOL...goddamn no. The guy has no morals (aka the FullTilt saga), no personality (didn't even crack a smile whilst winning over $1,000,000) and reeeeeally bad taste in women (he's currently being bled dry big a golddigger who gives him a bj every once in a while after her daily shopping trip...she's probably got a few other poker players on the go simultaneously).

j000hnnyd. No events played as yet so his winnings are at zero...which is the same as all the "Icons" put together. Actually, j000hnnyd is amazingly ahead of the rest just because he hasn't paid any entrance fees yet! LOL. It would probably be +EV for him to not play in any.

jizbiz: this month should be interesting...

http://www.sngicons.com/geeklog/blogs//article.php?story=20080604034112215

So jiz-donk has been getting creamed in the mid-stakes SNGs and has to drop down a few levels. And he comes up with an excuse that he has to "prove something to his younger brother". What bull-crap. Just admit that you've lost over $15k in your last 2.5k SNGs! So he has AVERAGED a $6 LOSS PER SNG for TWO AND A HALF THOUSAND SNGs!!!! No wonder he's dropping down - he'll be fighting it out with Wickss79 and thenoodleman over who is the worst low limit SNG grinder on the site.

OK, let's be fair here. Over his entire "career" jiz-donk has played 11.5k SNGs and made a profit of $22k, at a 5% ROI and $2 per SNG. Now, I don't know about the rest of you, but I have savings plans that generate more than 5% interest! By doing nothing I am earning more than jiz-donk is spending 8-10 hours of his life doing! $22k profit might sound impressive to some, but over 11.5k SNGs that is really REALLY poor, and basically borderline breakeven.

And for God's sake someone show the moron how to display a picture on a website! I'm sure it's just simple HTML... Heck, even thenoodleman can do it! Which shows the retardedness of jiz-donk. Unlikely he will "keep us regularly updated" on this "challenge", especially when variance has stopped liking him.

PS. I will be commenting on the "Icon's" WSOP losses on a weekly basis.

FieryJustice: busto in level 7

http://www.sngicons.com/geeklog/blogs//article.php?story=20080531003956632

(Cracks knuckles)

Aha! The old "I lost the minimum when I got unlucky with aces" routine. Unfortunately doucher forgets one minor detail: WHAT THE HELL WAS THE FLOP!!! If it was AA v 55 on a 456 all club flop when no one has a club, then it's pretty obvious there's not going to be much betting, especially if the turn was something like a 7. If it was AA v 55 on a Q95 rainbow flop, doucher gets busted 100% of the time. So don't tell us how well you avoided "anyone else would have gone broke" diatribe unless you're willing to tell us the whole hand.

Next hand, no doubt this was some kind of random all-in-pre-flop-coz-I -got-big-slick-dufus-type-move. Again, no situational explanation so I have to deduce it myself. DoucherJustice is under the gun, sees AK and wets himself. Surely this is by far the best hand at the table. He limps. A few more limpers but doucher doesn't mind, he knows he's got the best hand and will win the hand no matter how many limerps there are. Hershiser in the SB looks at QQ and makes a standard 5x the BB to thin the field out. On seeing this, doucher thinks "aha! Trapped him" and makes a min-raise. Everyone else folds to Hershiser, who knows how terrible a player doucher is from the NBC Heads Up event, and probably puts him in the range AK-A10 given his action, pushes. Now doucher grins widely - he's got his man!! He turns over his 43% dog hand and probably catches a random king on the river. I'm close, aren't I?

Next hand, doucher says he's outplayed Phil Ivey a few times by re-raising his continuous raises. That's a dangerous game for a donkey. Ivey almost always gets the last laugh. He won't stand for much of that, so like the little by who cried wolf, Ivey was probably the one who pushes all in and doucher loses. Teach you to play with fire and tangle with the best, kid.

Busted by a loose player who found a hand. Maybe that's why they show down 72 off in order to get donkeys like doucher to commit their stacks with MEDIOCRE hands like AJ. Seems like a good strategy to me when you've got a trash player like Jonathan Little on your table.

Doucher probably didn't get much sleep because he was having nightmares of seeing Phil Ivey at his table again, or in fact of any pro because they all outplay him. About his Mirage win, I quote: "and probably didnt play optimally". Hmmm, I know doucher likes to understate things, but that's going a bit too far. If you want a refresher on how un-optimally this donkey played, follow this link:

One thing he doesn't understand is his A++ game is not much different from his B- game. His game is based around getting lucky and hoping the cards get him out of trouble when he makes those basic mistakes. So really he should make every effort possible to get A++ lucky, and then maybe he has a chance at a bracelet.
