New Year Resolutions

So lets take a look at some of the new year resolutions posted in the "Icons" website recently...

2009 goals: This guy "started making serious money in December 2008", and his goal is to be " the top winner for full-ring SNGs on SharkScope" and reach Supernova Elite. His life goals for the year are to buy a new car, move in to a nice house and fill it with nice furniture and appliances, and meet a beautiful and intelligent girl who respects his profession.

2009 reality: This guy will be broke by April. He utterly overestimates his ability based on one upswing month. He doesn't realise that the DONs will stop being a profitable source if winnings once the initial hype of these games has died down (it's starting to now). His next blog entry was crying about dropping 50BI...sounds more like a correction from his upswing. He needs solid consistent results over at least 2 YEARS before he can even start dreaming of being the best in the world. This douchebag completely does not understand that full-ring SNGs are far different from DONs. Chances of reaching Supernova Elite - 0%. Chances of reaching Supernova - 0%. Life goals prediction will be a second-hand bicycle, still living in his trailer with a hand-me-down 1970's couch, living with a guy called Bob. Chances of sex in 2009 - 5% (taking into consideration the chance of another upswing so he can pay for a street ho - he certainly respects HER profession!).

2009 should-have goal: Understand poker better before trying to write about it and making completely unrealistic goals.

2009 goals: He's looking to double his results, make supernova by the end of May, reach the 60's by the end of the year, and becoming a poker coach.

2009 reality: This moron made $26k in all poker (his ONLY source of income), including rakeback and bonuses...and thinks it's good. It's barely minimum wage. $2k a month to live on? No thanks. No wonder he's only ever had "horrible" jobs. Someone even said they were envious of him, which shows how far down the drain the SNGIcons website has gone. Chances of him doubling his profits - 1% (well, even an utter donkey can have a good tournament year, look at Jon Little). Chance of making Supernova (playing the - lol - 24s) by May - 0%. Chances of making Supernova by the end of the year - 0%. Chances of playing the 60s by the end of the year - 100%, heck he'll probably try them by the middle of the year whatever his results in the 24s! That's what fish do...they reach far beyond themselves and their ego won't tell him to lower their standards, so they lose. Chances of becoming a poker coach - 100% as I'm sure there are some people out there who actually believe he comes up with the things he writes, not knowing he is just spewing up known theory figured out years ago. Chances of becoming a successful poker coach - 0% (no way, just no way). Chances of making friends in the real world - 5% (I'm sure there are other pig-like ChiMo's out there who do nothing than think they are great poker players).

2009 should-be goal: Stop being an utter toolcase.
